Does anyone out there know if it is possible to slipstream a 98se upgrade into an original 98 install? My situation is this...
The company has a 98 first edition CD, and a 98SE upgrade only. The only SE media we have other than that are OEM restore CDs (Dell, Compaq, HP), and I\'ve got quite a few older clones that I can\'t use those on, since it looks for the hardware of whatever the company is. While we have gone mostly to 2k, I still have some machines that I have to run 98 on, and currently I have to install, and then upgrade to SE (especially now that first edition is no longer supported by Windows Update, and there are some updates that I have to apply to the machines for them to be able to do what they need to do). Obviously, this is a pain.

Slipstreaming the SPs into the install for 2k has helped out a lot, but I don\'t have the time to sit around and essentially install 2 OSes to a machine when it\'s needed. I haven\'t been able to locate anything online that would even indicate this is possible, so I thought I\'d see if anyone here had any ideas.
Now, if it\'s not possible, would it be possible for me to turn one of my restore disks into a regular 98SE install disk, that DOESN\'T search for specific hardware?
Any answers will be greatly appreciated. I just recently stumbled across this site, and have been coming back daily ever since...quite a lot of valuable info here!
Thanks
