problems on win2k sp3 bootcd
« on: August 02, 2002, 03:52:02 PM »
hi out there, as the the sp3 is out, i\'ve taken my win2k cd, slipstreamed the sp3 and made it bootable
furthermore, i\'ve \"slipstreamed\" ie6, wmp and dx81 (visit www.tech-hints.com) using the $oem$ folder structure.

but now my problem: after pressing f6, adding the highpoint raid driver and formating the hdd, he\'s trying to grab the highpoint drivers off the cd and not from the floppy.

with my knowledge, the problem exist because i\'m using the $oem$ folder structure.

does anyone have an idea on how to fix that (i don\'t count \"adding the drivers to the cd and then changing the winnt.sif\" as a solution, i want it 100% original as the cd will be often in use with many mainboards & raid/scsi-cards)

thx for your ideas

Sounds peculiar. The install process should ask for the floppies later in the process if you do a \"clean install\". Are you sure that clicking further you do not have this option?

As for the no-no, including the drivers on your CD:
You can include the drivers for \"many mainboards & raid/scsi-cards\"

If you don\'t need the drivers for the booting device you can just include them into the $OEM$ folder structure and the install process installs whatever needed. If needed for the booting device it\'s a bit more complicated includind the Textmode folder and additional sections in winnt.sif.
