Boot cd with menu
« on: August 13, 2002, 07:05:13 AM »
Hi!
I`m Trying to make a boot cd with system tools (ghost, partition magic, etc).
There are two kinds I think
1.Multieltorito
2.Dos boot cd with progs in sub dirs.
Have made a multieltorito cd but the menu only displays bootimage 1, 2 etc
So I`ve desided to go for the second, and I want a menu to axcess my progs(have used dos commands or dos navigators uptill now). I have searched the net but every tutor etc I`ve found demands a pre knowledge of dos batch files etc.
Any pointers or links to tutorialshow2`s would be greatly appriciated.

to use eltorito to boot dos, get a dos floppy and use winimage to make an image of the floppy. then make a bootable cd with the boot file as the floppy image, floppy emulation, and then burn your files on the cd

This is more or less what I have done, only I used another floppy image(I have all the drivers etc I need)
I have read the guides on NU2(Bart`s way).
I can find how to autorun a prog etc. But not how to make a menu to run the progs of my liking from the cd(the cd will in visual layout resemble super erd 2k2).
Maybe I`m just thick http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> but does eltorito assemble a menu like this?

Well you could use ISOLINUX ( http://syslinux.zytor.com/iso.php )  as the bootloader modified to your specifications as it is release under GNU.
