I am really hoping that someone out there can help me with a problem. While out of town, my husband decided the best way to fix some problems he was having in Windows ME was to upgrade to XP. The system now takes 5 minutes to boot to the user selection. In the meantime, in an attempt to fix the problem, he updated the xp files automatically and some drivers, etc. None of these things worked to make the system boot and he discovered that he could not now remove xp as it gave him an error saying that some backup files had been changed since installation. He tried reinstalling 98..........why I don\'t know....... and now it asks us to select the os that we want to run. I haven\'t the foggiest idea what to do without completely formatting harddrive and starting over......which I really don\'t want to have to do! Any help would be appreciated.
