Sorry to interrupt, but is this version or XP a cunterfit? because the Winlogon holds information about your hardware, if you ahve chaned your hardware afew times windows makes a log of these and stores them. you only have a fews changes until windows shuts you out of the system.
if you can get in using that linux methord then its best to run a check and find out your security log is up to date. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />

All i did was change my driver, but this was the same error before I did that.
I got assistance from Dell chat online. We went through many steps to figure out the problem, the system restore didnt work so we did a few other tests. Seems the problem was with the hard drive, after doing a diagnostic test on the hard drive and getting a few errors Dell decided to mail me a new hard drive, should be coming soon, i dont know if they are sending someone to set it up for me or doing it myself.
This still does not solve my problem though. I want to know why my system crashed to begin with. This is what happened.
I bought a PC game Command & Conquer 3 and I instantly had problems with the game running. I checked my requirements and I noticed I had an outdated Driver, I got a new one and the game ran fine for a little bit. Then the same error started happening again, something saying "Direct3D Error (Out Of Memory)" I ran all my direct3D test in dxdiag, everything was setup exactly how it should have been and all tests passed. I downloaded a new Driver again to see if that would do anything and changed my game to run through a window instead of the whole screen. A few games later my screen started flickering black and soon enough I got the Direct3D error but this time when I restarted the computer I got the blue screen error and that was the end of my computer.
I would like to try to install this game again when I get my new hard drive. I dont think the game itself is corrupted. Any thoughts of how this could have happened?

Very sorry for the delay, I see  you got all problems figured out

It is probably because of the harddrive

I noticed in your last post you made, you had no Internet, I assume Dell had you install the drivers for your NIC card
They did supply you with a drivers cd, and/or you can download them from Dell's website
