I\'m looking for a new PC notebook for producing music and this is what I want in it:
1. A good quality sound card (preferrably 24-bit/96kHz, but I doubt any factory notebooks have them.)
2. Windows 2000 Pro (no XP, but I could install Win2K myself provided all hardware is 2K compatible and the system includes all device drivers on disc.)
3. At least 512mb of memory
4. At least 20gb of HDD space
5. Fairly fast CPU (doesn\'t have to be top-of-the-line, but good enough to perform some moderate audio editing in a relatively short period of time.)
6. Affordability (my budget is $1000-$1500.)
The programs I will mostly be using with this notebook are:
BuzzSound Forge 5.0Various VST and Direct X plugins
