Corrupted files in a multi-boot CD
« on: October 15, 2002, 10:12:21 AM »
I’m working and creating an XP multi-boot cd with slipstream SP1.

When going through the testing of the CD it is working just fine.

I then burn the ISO to cd, and try to install it then, getting a fatal error in the ASMS
Hummm…

Well then I start to dig to find out what is going on. I come to find out that the file of %root%UENGLISHXPPROI386ASMS60100MsftWindowsCommonControlscontrols.MAN is corrupted and will not copy from the cd to the hard drive.

I’m currently using nero to burn the cd. So I then use the goldenhawk software, same problem but this time I can not copy anything in the controls folder.

Next up I’m thinking that the file is just to far deep, so I remove the UENGLISH folder and adjust the txtsetup.sif files for the change. But still the file is corrupted.

I don’t believe that the burner is the problem, if it were I would not be able to burn, and it’s a plextor, good quality. But I’m getting ready to try it on a different burner soon.

Any other feed back would be helpful.

this is a problem when you burn the cd fast... try 1x and it will not give you this error ..i jsut fixed this but am now having other errors. use connectix virtual PC demo to test it out ...it will work fine but then when you go to make the cd look for that file it;s there but corrupt data - if you want the full fun error check this out google will give you when you search the error you got. http://www.lecour.net/richard/archives/000050.html

if you figure out the errors you get after that let me know how you fix them also if you dont get any errors let me know how you did your cd.
