I would highly recommend waiting until service pack 1 and the fixes for service pack 1 come out before using vista. Especially with xp sp3 coming out, vista truly is not a necessity. The flip -3d thing is useless, it is very expensive i had to buy ultimate for 400$ for one feature....(ability to connect to servers) without losing basics from home premium. However, vista does look nice, i like the aero look and the dream scene ultimate extra is beautiful.
However i have a few problems with vista....one is that my wireless internet just stops working, it isnt a corrupt driver i've already tried uninstalling and what not which leads me to believe its a problem in vista. Another thing is i looked the problem up on google and its common with people who use the same computer as me.
another thing is sometimes my webcam stops working or cant even be started unless the driver is reloaded which includes putting the computer in sleep and logging in again....
sometimes, i get a problem with the nvidia drivers which once again only happens in vista. when i put the computer in sleep the screen refuses to start up again or display anything, forcing me to hold the power button down for 5 seconds and subsequently reducing my system preformance.
however, vista is a great os for multimedia and entertainment the graphics are amazing, so is sound quality, and the ability to have full HD support and a tv tuner and bitlocker and shadow copy are nice.
i suggest you don't get vista if you need to get serious work done, however if you are a common user that would use vista for entertainment purposes it would be perfect for you. if not, wait until after service pack 1
