I have 5 running at the time while others have only 2 on... <--- Is there something wrong?

Is it because I use Window's media centre 2005?

It's not really unusual to have more than 2 running, unless svchost.exe is running elsewhere than the system32 folder

If unsure you can post a Hijackthis log to see if everything is ok
Would you like to go that route?

It's all in the same folder... so I guess it's fine...

It also depends on how many services you have running in the background.
Go to: www.blackviper.com and take a look at his guide on Windows XP Services.
There is a bunch of them that are unnecessary and can be disabled without negatively impacting your system.

I have 59 services running

Depending on what you have running at the moment
It is not unusual to have 30 or more services running
What about that hijackthis log, would you like to post one?
