Hi I'm new! Glad to have found this place!! I'm getting a system error box at the startup of my pc. It says:

Windows cannot find 'C:\windows\system32\uynzzeycc\csrss.new.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a new file, click the Start button and then click Search.

Hi Jenna
Can I have you do the following
Please disable SpybotSD TeaTimer, as it may hinder the removal of the infection. You can enable it after you're clean.
To disable SpybotSD TeaTimer:

Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
Click on Resident icon.
Uncheck Teatimer box.
Close Spybot

After you disabled Teatimer, download ResetTeaTimer.bat
http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat
to your desktop. (In case you use Firefox, rightclick the link and choose "save as").
Doubleclick ResetTeaTimer.bat and let it run.
This will only take a few seconds.

Download [color=\"#FF0000\"]MsnCleaner_eng.zip[/color][/url] from here and SAVE it to your desktop
http://www.forospyware.com/Msncleaner/MsnCleaner_eng.zip
You may have to:
(Copy/Paste the URL into the address bar or use "Save Target As")
Unzip the contents to your desktop, don't run it yet

Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
Choose your usual account.

In safe mode

Double-click MsnCleaner.exe to run it.
Click the Analyze button.
A report will be created once after you finish scan.
If it finds an infection, click the Deleted button.
Now, please reboot back to normal mode.
MsnCleaner will create a log>> C:\MsnCleaner.txt, I'll need to see it later.

Can you post back all the following

1. Post the log from MsnCleaner
2. Do a fresh scan and save logfile with Hijackthis and post it's log
3. Reopen Hijackthis and post an uninstall list
Open Hijackthis>>Open MISC TOOLS SECTION>>Open UNINSTALL MANAGER
Click the SAVE LIST... button
Save the list to your desktop then copy>>Paste back here the Whole contents

Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

* Double click MsnVirRem.exe to run it
* Once open, click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"
<<Your computer will now be scanned for Infected Files>>
* When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK
* Now click the "REBOOT" Button.
* After the Reboot, you WILL receive file not found errors (usually 4) please acknowledge them and continue.
* A Message should popup from MsnVirRem if not, double click the program again and it will finish

Please Post the contents of C:\msnvirrem.log along with a fresh HijackThis log

Yes, I uninstalled Symantec Norton 360 about a month ago since it was slowing my computer down so bad.

I followed the instructions above and after the reboot, I now have two 'shadowed' word docs on the desktop. One is '~$06 price list' and the other is '~$HP app'. I have no idea what those are.

I did do a couple of steps backwards though, I apologize. I did not read thoroughly enough. I ran the MsnVirRem first and this is the first log:

Go to START>>>RUN>>>type in services.msc
Hit OK
In the next window, look on the right hand side for this service
name---- Symantec Lic NetConnect service

Double click on it--- STOP the service--If running
In the drop down menu, change the startup type to Disabled
Apply and OK it
Do the same for the next service names

Exit afterwards:

Access your Add and Remove programs and remove the following

Go to START>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>System Restore
Select>>Create a New restore point
Give it a name, any name,
eg... Jenna
and click Create
Windows will prompt when it was created successfully

When that's done

Go to START>>RUN>>type the following
cleanmgr
Hit OK
Let if finish calculating

Select the More Options tab
and click Cleanup.. under 'System Restore'
This will clear all later restore points except for the one you just made

Ok the prompts, it may take a few seconds to remove old restore points
Ok again after it's ready and let it finish cleaning

I suggest that you add SpywareBlaster to your protection software
SpywareBlaster by JavaCool

After installation, Check for updates
After updating, select "Protection" on the Left
Then select "Enable all Protection"
"Check for updates every couple of weeks"
after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"
