MS Word Forms and footnotes
« on: April 01, 2008, 12:11:26 PM »
Hello Everyone!

I recently created a simple Word 2003 memo form and saved it as a template for others to use in my office. The top section of the form is protected so that the formatting cannot be changed, but the second section is not protected so that the user can type whatever they want and even format however they want.  To my surprise, one of the users called me up and told me that he was trying to insert a footnote in the memo and the footnote option was grayed out, so I tested it myself and sure enough, I couldn't insert a footnote in the form.  Am I missing something here?  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' /> Why would such a simple option not work in a form?  Can someone tell me if there is another way to create a form in which you CAN insert a footnote, otherwise, I am going to have to create a template with a dynamic dialog box, which requires a lot of coding, for such a simple form.  Thanks in advance for any help.
