Cannot Access Files
« on: September 03, 2008, 10:02:56 AM »
I cannot open my MS Word 2000 files.  The message says "document name or path is not valid."  Can anybody please help.

And now I can't open Excel files either.

Further to my first post, the problem is only with three folders in "My Documents."  I can open the rest of the files.

Thank you for your reply.

Before posting here, I looked around on Google, but nothing has helped, including the link you sent me.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Cannot Access Files

I think what is going on here is that an entire folder gets encrypted, and I cannot open the files.  But what triggers this, I don't know, but this is the third such instance.  The only guess I can make is something triggers it when I install microsoft updates.

In any event, is there a way to decrypt so that I can have access to these files again?  Thank you.
