internet access on network
« on: November 02, 2010, 06:04:27 PM »
I have a home network. On the main computer, it will not open a particular website. But on the remote it will access that website. How can I get access on the main computer? Using Windows XP Home. Also, the same antivirus with both computers, Trend Micro.

Are you using a Host file on one and not the other?
Any other security program that might block the addy?

What's the exact address your trying to reach?

Not sure about host file. No other security program. Also, this occurs on Int. Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome on the main computer. On the remote, I can access this web address:
http://findlaycc.com/_filelib/FileCabinet/Newsletters/November_Newsletter.pdf?FileName=November_Newsletter.pdf
will not open on the main computer.

How are you set in TCP/IP configuration
Are you set to Auto obtain DNS? or specifying address, compare it to your other computer that can access
Control Panel - Network Connections - Local Area Connection  - Properties - Hightlight>Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) - Properties - General tab
