Does the new hard drive 7200RPM, Ultra ATA 100, 2MB Cache works with the pentium II 300 mhz?

Yes. The drive will work in that system but it may not run at its ATA100 rating.
The motherboard probably supports ATA33 or possibly ATA66.
It will run, just not at its full ATA rating.
