Hotfix Updates

I have a slipstreamed CD of XP. I am trying to add post SP1 hotfixes to the install. I decided to do it using the svcpack folder in $oem$.

I don\'t exactly understand a couple of things so if someone could verify and explain it to me, that would be excellent. (http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/hfdeploy.asp#the_combination_installation_gxsi)

1. I downloaded the hotfixes that I wish to install.
2. I created the svcpack folder and editted dosnet.inf already.
3. I renamed the hotfixes Q######.exe and placed them in the svcpack folder.
4. I expanded the hotfixes to temporary folders.
5. I get confused on step 8 (on the website listed above for the combination installation).

a. can I delete the eula.txt file from the temporary folders or is that still needed? what about xpsp1hfm.exe? can I delete that also?

b. It says to copy the the hotfix binary files and any subfoldes to the i386 folder. then it says to make a new svcpack.inf in i386 and add these lines:
[Version]
Signature=\"$Windows NT$\"MajorVersion=5
MinorVersion=1
BuildNumber=2600
[SetupData]
CatalogSubDir=\"i386svcpack\"[ProductCatalogsToInstall]
Q######.cat
[SetupHotfixesToRun]
Q######.exe /options

why do I need to have the setup hotfixes files to run if I just extracted them and took the files I need and pasted them into the i386 folder???

Thanks in advance

Let me try to explain it again.
Here is what a directory looks like:

[SVCPACK] > [Q814033] >
now two directories: [COMMON] and [SP2]
and one file: xpsp1hfm.exe
[COMMON] has eula.txt
[SP2] has a .dll and subdir [UPDATE]
[UPDATE] has the .cat file (which is also in the svcpack dir)

Now:
1. can I delete the [COMMON] dir with the eula.txt?
2. What is the purpose of having the .cat file in the [UPDATE] and [SVCPACK] directories... or do I only need one, if so which one?
3. If I need both, can I move the one from [UPDATE] into the [SP2] dir with the .dll ?

So basically, this is how I would like my directory to look (and I am curious if it is possible).

[SVCPACK] > [Q814033] > file.dll

Does that work?

Thanks in advance
