Modifing Xp Home From Upgrade To Corp.
« on: April 15, 2003, 05:25:13 PM »
My friend has a copy of Windows XP Home Upgrade Edition. I have a serial for XP Home retail but no disk, and have had to reinstall XP a lot due to problems. Continually installing 98SE and then XP overtop of it, and then de- and re-activating XP has been an extremely process. Is there a way I could modify the XP Upgrade to use my XP Home retail CD Key and then add in the corporate files? Could someone please help me with this? Thanks.

You don't have to install win98se first.  Just start the install using the winxp cd, it'll ask you to insert your win98 cd (to make sure you're eligible for the upgrade), and that's it.
