Put a new hard drive in my computer, after I got a virus that destroyed my os and old hard drive somehow. I dl win2k from my friend and just burnt the program as a whole onto a CD using easycdcreator. When i try to install and force boot from cd in the bios it wont work and when i run setup from dos it wont...is there a way to make this bootable!??!?!

It should work in DOS though.  How are you trying to start the install and what error do you get?  I believe to get it to work in DOS you first have to boot to a floppy that has cdrom support (a win98 or winme floppy should work fine for this).  Change to the CD-ROM drive, then cd to the i386 folder.  From there run winnt, should start up fine.  Note that you need to have your hard drive formatted as FAT32 for this to work, but after the install you can convert to NTFS no problem.

Of course, you can also do as the previous poster suggested and get the four install floppies.

I'll assume when you boot to your floppy it assigns e: as your cd drive.  If so, then you would type this:

e:
cd i386
winnt

Then it will start the install.
