« on: October 01, 2003, 09:43:47 PM »
Hello all,

Received a computer with 2000 pro on it.  Obviously, I did not have passwords, logins, domain, etc.

I went into bios and insured that cd was 1st option on boot

Went in and changed security admin password

Still won't let me in

I bought NEW 2000 pro software to load . . . .

No hair left - please help

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

 hi
boot the computer with the help of a boot table floppy or a cd
try to format the hdd and re-install the win2k pro

                                                or

boot the computer in the safe mode login as a admin login and go to control panel
and then to the admin tools and then to the user create a new user give this user full admin rights

                                                 or
make sure u boot the computer in recovery console rename the sam file
this should work
try these anyone of the solution should work

You can always try jumpering the battery and clear the bios It will go back to factory settings with no passward required. Try looking up the motherboard's manual online.

Well,

You said you went into bios so resetting any passwords are not needed there.

You don't have admin pass so you can't use recovery console.

If you can't get in, boot to a win 9x disk, fdisk and re-install with new 2k cd.
