Why don't you thieves simply buy the software like every other legal and legit person. It sounds like you spend an awful lot of time finding ways to beat the system which is plain unethical. What some of you are doing is stealing plain and simple.. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
why why why do u have 2 be such a dumbass.... if you can burn softwear on2 something its kinda noticeable that they made it so that people could even if they did have to hack the system but if they didnt want people doing this than they would put a firewall with more crap to get through in iut
Generic_antiwpa_2.1.5.zip   was released in 2005 and the one everyone here is downloading "antiwpa.zip", is called out as having a virus.  Installing a Service pack will remove it.  32 bit OS only

Antiwpa_V3.4.6.zip  Was released in 2006  Most used on the internet for XP,  Highly recommended.  32 or 64 Bit OS

antiwpa_3.4.7.zip  Was released in 2007  Mainly to address server2003 SP2, but also works for XP.  32 or 64 Bit OS
Thank's 4 posting the 3.4.7 version! This truely rock's!

We bought a Toshiba and unfortunately in was preinstalled with Vista.
Due 2 the sata drive I couldn't use my favourit TinyXP.
Lucky me I layed hands on a restore image of a XP-pro version.

Starting the system went fine till the logonscreeny thing.
The 3.4.6 version ended in a Stop: netlogon BSOD.

Special thank's to the one's who made it possible bypassing WGA
I downloaded the linked file a few pages back.  I found that it is a valid copy of antiwpa 2.1.5 written by CW2k.  Seems the zip header is damaged though.
An older version that does in fact work for most people, but does not work for X64 or 2003server.  Sometimes XP will revert back or your antivirus will remove it.
Yes many antivirus software calls this out as a malware or other, which is not true.
version 3.4.6 or even 3.4.7 is newer and more stable.
If you install any of these from safemode can you get running again.
I recommend an other forum http://defcon5.biz/phpBB3/  only because it is where the author of the crack frequents.

But I will send you the file today.

Thanks for such a useful recommendation, and merry f'n x-max:

AntiWPA2 Generic Patch Engine v2.1.6 (01/20/08 ; tested with SP3 RC1)

p.s. Terminal Server restriction patch has also been updated as of today to address SP3 build mstscax.dll patching issues.

I just downloaded without a problem and the zip passed test.
http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.ph...st&p=415814

Version 2.1.6 is still the same as 2.1.5, only tested on XP SP3 RC1.  Wait a few months to what SP3 really holds for us.  Still no X64 support.

Signature link doesn't work. I got new PC and installed a version of XP SP2 that required no serial. Tried FittMunken's trick (which works perfectly for SP1 for over 2 years now) but yesterday it said that I got 5 days to activate, when I try and activate it says it's activated. I downloaded a torrent of a corporate XP SP2 Pro edition and burned it already on CD. My question is this: How can you tell it's Corporate BEFORE the installation? When autorun triggered, it just said that it's going to install Windows (the initial blue window with all the options). How can I verify it's Corporate? I got a bunch of keys for corporate editions (either SP2 or plain XP Corp.), if I use one and fail and then use another and fail again, how many times can I "fail" the key before it stops the install (if it stops!)? Thanks!

You are throwing too much at once.
1. The link works fine today. http://cid-c0f03a17f30c51b9.skydrive.live..../Public/347.zip
if a direct click does not work then copy link location and paste into address bar.
2. All XP versions required a serial number (key number) if it does not ask it is in the install file for the disc.
3. I don't know FittMunkens's trick
4. a Corp edition does not require activation but may not pass WGA later on if key blocked by MS.
5. to check if corp edition open file setupp.ini file on disc, if Pid ends with 270 it is corp (VLK).
6. if the failure happens during installation then you can keep trying as many times as you want.

I recommend you install by booting the CD not from within windows.

I trawled through this thread to put XP on my other pc.

Eventually I followed a link to here:

 http://defcon5.biz/phpBB3/index.php

Follow the first topic and it will give you a choice of crack versions to download.

I downloaded Generic Antiwpa-2.1.6-WinXP-2k3.ZiP
because it seemed appropriate.

Didn't change anything manually, just clicked on the unzipped file and a couple of seconds later the patch was applied: no more problems!

I had to download all the windows updates afterwards (my xp disc was from 2002) and even service pack II worked without issue.

I was pleased until I completely messed things up by trying to use partition software that essentially undid my hours of installation work!!

Anyway, that link I provided worked flawlessly for me and thanks to all the posters who led me to it.

I went with mittfunken's gig post 170.

Thieves? They're always gonna' be around. Don't worry about 'em; mind yourself.

Me? I am absolutely devoted to Jesus Christ. My XP install? Came from another laptop that I lost in an auto accident. So I have a 'spare' XP install disc. What I do not have, is time to jump through tele-prompt hoops, and 'oprima el numero todo', ad infinitum, and finally beg for install permission for a replacement machine.

Bill got HIS money for this one. My time is MY money.

Now, if they'll pay me contractor's business rates ($32.50/hr/1 hr. minimum - what I charge in consulting), then maybe I'll consider sittin' on the phone for however long it takes.

Think they'll pay???

rant off / buccaneere out...........................................

Ihave found an activation crack that seems to work [Link removed]CRACK.MS - Download Windows XP Activation Crack v4.2 CRACK or SERIAL for FREE
You have to run it in safe mode it gives you a warning that it cannot be undone then win say's activation cannot be done in safe mode click ok then restart and if you click on activate it say's already done. I had 26days left and now can't find the counter so i will update this on the 11/4/08 to say if my computer still works.

Quit being assholes and help a dude out.

For everyone out there who might have this problem.

We all know you're getting the error since you're using a pirated version of XP - I'm not gonna be a wussy who calls you a thief and refuses to help you since we all have our reasons to pirate XP, and some of them might even be legitimate.

The crack you used is probably the same one everyone else who is having this problem used. The issue arises since the crack changes the winlogon.exe file to give you an error if not activated, and not let you logon. You applied the crack after a fresh install of XP. Works great. Then, updates come along and SP2 changes the winlogon.exe. All you need to do is crack it again.

I didn't do that, and I waited until day 0. I couldn't log in to my user even through safe mode to recrack it, like some people were able to do. I tried repairing my XP installation, and that downgraded me to SP2 since I used a SP1 disc, but it didn't remove my activation information. I was in a pickle. I had my own and my other user on this computers data locked away.

Luckily, I had set aside a partition for Ubuntu that I never installed since I'm lazy. I used that partition to install XP again, then ran the crack from that user but browsed my winlogon.exe in the WINDOWS folder somewhere in the other disc, and cracked it. That saved me having to backup everything and reinstall xp. Phew.

I hope that helps some people, although you kinda need to have a partition to do that. Otherwise, I hope it lets you know you need to re-crack it before day 0! I looked all over the interwebs for this solution, and none fit my situation.

I'm feeling out of my depth here but.... I have a Xp Pro disk but there is a problem, i think it has to do w/ the boot file. If i restart the computer set to boot from disk drive it just boots into Vista. When i explore the CD and click on setup.exe the setup screen comes up but the install option is grayed out.

If you are installing XP over Vista, you must do it by booting to the CD.  You may have to change Bios settings of boot sequence to not boot your HD.  You cannot start from within Vista, Microsoft hates downgrades.
