Buring and Ripping Speed Problem =(
« on: August 16, 2004, 09:24:37 PM »
Hi all, I got the NEC 2500a burner a while back...the problem is - after I burned a few DVD-Rs @ full speed around 4x (read/rip speed was also around 4x), the drive now has seemed to be locked at 1.2-1.3x for both reading/ripping and burning (same brand of media used which I got the 4x speed) and I wonder why?
This is really bothering me cuz I know it can burn and rip @ 4x...
this also happened with a dvd burner that I got earlier and returned to the store cuz I thought it was defective or something when the speed began to lock at 1.2x...but since now it happens to my NEC2500a drive again, so I think it's my computer's problem - can some PLEASE help me out here - do I need to upgrade my firmware, play with the computer's/burning program's settings? I already upgraded the firmware once to v1.07...

I use DVDdecrypter for ripping and burning DVDs...

Any help is appreciated, thank you very much!
