Win 2K install problem. Could not find ME Version?
« on: August 28, 2001, 06:41:04 PM »
I\'m doing a dual boot so its not an upgrade!
Ok put the warez 2k disk in.
Prompted Do you want to upgrade? (No)
Menu
Install Win2k
Addons
Browse this CD.

Click on Install and then the following error appears????

Could not find current windows version?
c:windowsupgdllsw95upg.dllwin9xupgw95upg.dll
Installation Aborted......

So doing a search and i can find
c:windowsupgdllsw95upg.dll
And its there.
But the following does not exist
win9xupgw95upg.dll

After doing a search the second file is found in
C:windows setup

I have been told to disable my sound Hardware prior to installation but i\'m not even getting that far...
But i did try just incase to no avail.

My current win Me version is
4.90.3000
Yes thanks to the warez boys http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance !!
I cant find the Win 2k version but the serial is
*Edit:  Don\'t post serials

Just zeros & ones ???

Im not quite sure about this one, but i think WinMe has to be installed after Win2k for a dual boot configuration that you want. You can also use Partition Magic to setup a dual boot using bootmagic to select your OS. (my preferred way) Win2k and 9x dont mix, so problems on one partition usually wont affect the other.

Have you tried using a bootable cd to install? Should be the same as the boot discs, but much faster.

to install win2k from winme you have to integrate this key, and that should do the trick.
