Could you try creating a new user on the computer
Even, if you enable the Guest account and see if you have problems with Internet Explorer

i activated her guest account and the internet runs smooth.  you occasionaly still see the two messages i mentioned previously in the lower address bar, but it runs faster and the homepage doesn't change when you close down and start back up.

Your profile may be corrupt and we may have to create a new profile
How many users on the computer with Administrative privileges?

I would deactive the guest account as it won't do no good
You will want to create a new profile  Admin privleges
Take a look at this link please
Read it very carefully!
Take note of the following important step

1.   Log on as a user other than the user whose profile you are copying files to or from.

Which means, if you have more than one user with admin privileges right now your fine
If not, create 2 new admin profiles, or you will need to enable the viewing of the admin account
Which, is hidden and a user profile is created
It should be able to be viewed with a reg. setting, but if your uncomfortable in the registry
create 2 new users with admin, then after your happy that you transferred everything over to the One new profile
Remove the corrupted and the one too transfer files and folders
This does not include the guest account!
Let me know how it goes
