that\'s what i\'m doing now. a slight problem with that is that i also am installing DirectX 8.1 automatically and it also forces a reboot. i\'m doing these things in the GuiRunOnce section using batch files. i\'ve found that after it reboots, it will actually keep going with the items in GuiRunOnce, but for some reason, it skips one:
say have lines in GuiRunOnce that execute batch1.bat, batch2.bat and batch3.bat, in that order. in batch1.bat, there is something that forces a reboot. after the reboot, batch3.bat is executed with no trace of any execution of batch2.bat. even after the install is complete and the computer has been rebooted one last time and i log in, none of the applications or hotfixes from batch2.bat have been installed. my current workaround for this is to just put in a dummy batch \"hello world\" file in between these so that if something gets skipped, then it\'s that and not something important. that\'s working so far, but i\'d really like to suppress the reboots...
