how to slipstreem sp2 to office xp
« on: September 15, 2002, 08:06:28 PM »
I can\'t make slipstreamed office XP CD and burn it because the result folder after slipstreaming is too big to fit 1 CD (950MB~). After reading Microsoft manual I tried a few ways to slipstream:
Copy all the office CD content to a folder and slipstream the service pack into that folder.
OR
Administrative install to a folder (setup /a - Which does not exact copy of the CD) and slipstream the service pack into.

I used the command:
\"MSIEXEC /p c:sp2MAINSP2ff.msp /a c:OfficeXPPROPLUS.MSI SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /L* c:sp2oxpsp2.log\" (It seems that only while office XP is already installed on the system you can use the /QB and the installer will take the key from the existing installation but if it doesn’t the installer doesn’t allow to proceed in quiet mode because no key is entered)

I noticed that the target folder contain a lot of files, that does not exist on the original CD and related to (I think) languages support, but doing all the above on a clean standard English install of windows 2000 did not resolve the problem.

Please help me I don\'t know what\'s wrong
