Multiple Member Manager and Token of Death
« on: November 13, 2007, 02:57:22 AM »
The Multiple Member Manager is a modification for IPB that gives every member a cookie whenever they log in. If they log into a separate account on the same computer, then that cookie is now registered for both accounts, and the 2 account names appear in a list in the components tab of the ACP. It comes in very handy when trying to stop scammers (or people posting malicious or illegal downloads) from returning after a ban.

The Token of Death is another modification for IPB that gives every banned member a cookie when they log in to their account and see the "Sorry, you do not have permission to access this board" page. Then, when that banned member goes to create a new account, it is automatically banned upon registration. VERY handy.

^These are both free mods. They make it so that even if a member uses a proxy to get passed an IP ban, they will still be discovered.

I really think they would be great additions to TTG, especially in the Frag Fest sections.

Also, I think it would be in everyone's best interest not to let out the secret of how these work to the regular members, which is why I posted it here. Simply deleting all cookies for the site would override this which defeats the whole purpose.

Sounds good, by the way JBLee, nice to have you around
P.S> I don't like the idea of allowing certain email addy's to be posted
Harvesters, spammers, etc..
They lurk everywhere
