jumping cursor issue

Hey there,

I was hoping for some help here. I've already tried repairing and restoring and cleaning it with norton, and im still unsure of what to do with this. It happens sporadically and usually right after my computer is restarted, its not the touchpad because I've disabled it. I figured that was the problem but its not, I use a microsoft mouse instead of the touchpad. Some help would be appreciated.

What is the exact make/model of Laptop your running?

Can you perform a Clean boot and see if the mouse still experience problems

Please do the following
Click the START Orb, in the Search box type msconfig
Press ENTER
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.

Instructions from Microsoft are as follows:
   1. In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.
   2. Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
      Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.
   3. Click the Services tab.
   4. Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
   5. Click Disable All, and then click OK.
   6. When you are prompted, click Restart.

Back in Windows

I just bought this laptop about a month ago, and started experiencing issues when i plugged in my usb key board a week ago. Since then I've used two different brands of mouses, Logitech and Microsoft. I replaced my logitech with the Microsoft one. I also removed the drivers for the keyboard and it still happens, I've resorted to using notepad to try and type correctly . it seems to only affect those things instead of my web pages and notepad.

I didn't have a problem with it when i plugged it into my sony vaio laptop, so i didn't think it would cause a problem with my new laptop.

I now have an issue with my FN keys. My volume control keys have stopped working and my touchpad system tray icon has disappeared, and is re-enabled.
I created a back up CD when i got this laptop, im going to try a repair with it, possibly fixing my issue i hope but my jumping cursor problem stopped..

That issue is probably because we have disable some entries from running on startup
To resolve that issue, you can do the following
Click START>>in the Start Search box.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
 On the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.
# When you are prompted, click Restart.

I was going to ask if you created the Recovery DVD's, did you?

i created a backup dvd when prompted to after turning it on for the first time, but all it lets me do is repair. as for the cursor problem, it still exists only when im typing my password in online games =/ windows 7 is confusing

jumping cursor issue

I restored my laptop, but now it seems like im still experiencing this issue. This time it happened after a windows update. I'm not sure what to do here anymore, im at a loss here =/
