poker software
« on: September 28, 2010, 05:46:41 AM »
Hello, I don't know if this is your field but let's give it a try. About a month ago I downloaded a poker software "Bodog poker" everything was running smooth until a couple of days ago. When I "ONLY" open Bodog I get a small pop up window saying this;

Internet explorer script error
Line:1
Char 1
Error syntax error
code 0
url:http//www.bodog.com/sitecatalystcms?custompagename=

I email them asking if this is a big problem and they replied:
• Go to http://tinyurl.com/L59GC
  • Click the link 'Download on Windows XP or later' if you have Windows XP or later.
  • Click 'Run' or 'Open'
  • From the drop down menu at the top, select 'MSN Messenger Related Issues'
  • Click 'Diagnose and Fix'
AutoCare will now prompt you to check the date and time. If the date and time are correct, please click 'Close'. AutoCare will now delete temporary internet files, clear cache and cookies, and flush DNS.  Once AutoCare has completed this process, please click 'Save Result' and simply close the window.

You will now be required to do a Powercycle. To do this, please follow the steps below:
• Turn off your computer completely
  • Unplug your internet modem for about 30 seconds
  • Once you have plugged your modem back in, wait for it to completely turn back on
That did not work, any ideas?

Thank you

Rino

Very sorry for the delay, it may just be a setting in IE, but just to be sure, can I see the following please
Download OTL.exe by OldTimer to your Desktop.
  • Close all windows and double click on OTL.exe to run it
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted.
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Follow the instructions posted http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.php/topic/22942-please-read-how-to-post-logs-from-frst/\'>Click Here

Can you run a few files thru an online scanner for me please
You may know what a couple are related to

Go to this link
http://www.virustotal.com/

Use the browse button and navigate to this file on your hard disk
C:\poker\data\svchost.exe <--this file

Right click on the file and choose Select
Then use the Submit button
Let it finish scanning
Could you post back the results of the scan back here please
Or better yet, just post the link to the results page

Do the same thing for the next couple files please
C:\poker\data\winmmm.dll<--this file
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\bltofzsb.qlf

I would like to ensure that some of your software gets updated,
But first can I have you do the following please, I get a good indication as to what versions your running

Download and unzip to your desktop InstalledPrograms.zip
Double click on InstalledPrograms.vbs

Click OK at the IP prompt and click YES to view the results now
A text file will open, can you copy and paste back here the whole contents

Let's get your versions of both Java and SpywareBlaster updated please

First step, save the installers to both Sun Java and SpywareBlaster 4.4 to desktop

Go HERE and click on the Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 Offline link in the Windows section near the top and save it to your Desktop.
DO NOT install it yet

Go HERE
Download and save to desktop the installer to the latest version of SpywareBlaster
DO NOT install it yet

Download JavaRa from HERE and save it to your Desktop.
You will need to extract the file(s):
Right click on the zipped folder and from the menu that appears, click on Extract All...
In the 'Extraction Wizard' window that opens, click on Next> and in the next window that appears, click on Next> again.
In the final window, click on Finish

***Please close any instances of Internet Explorer or Firefox before continuing!***
    * Double-click
JavaRa.exe to begin.
    * Pick your preferred language from the drop-down menu and click Select.
    * Click on Remove Older Versions to remove older version of Java
    * Click Yes when prompted. When JavaRa is done, a notice will appear that a logfile has been produced. Click OK.
Open your version of SpywareBlaster, in the Main menu click on "Disable All Protection"
When done, exit SpywareBlaster
Enter your Add and Remove programs and remove SpywareBlaster 4.3

After removal, reboot your computer, back in Windows
Go ahead and install the latest version of Sun Java
After it has been successfully installed, you can delete the installer

In addition, double click on the installer to SpywareBlaster 4.4
Select Manual updating when installing
After installation, Check for updates
After updating, select "Protection Status" on the Left
Then select "Enable all Protection"
IMPORTANT>>"Check for updates every couple of weeks or so"
after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"
or again, click on Protection Startus>>enable all protection

Open your Windows Control panel
In Classic View click on "Internet Options"
In Category View click on Network and internet connections, then click on "Internet Options"
Open the "Advanced" Tab and then click on "Restore Advanced Settings"
Apply and OK, then restart IE

Let me know if that is any help please

Hi,

The syntax error that I was getting is not showing up anymore, for about a week now. I wanted to make sure it did not come back for at least a week before telling you.

Should I still proceed with your instructions?

It wouldn't hurt to do the last set of instructions, and it will keep your software updated

You don't necessarily have to do this step however
Code: [Select]
Open your Windows Control panel
In Classic View click on "Internet Options"
In Category View click on Network and internet connections, then click on "Internet Options"
Open the "Advanced" Tab and then click on "Restore Advanced Settings"
Apply and OK, then restart IE

You can simply delete installedprograms.zip and it's .vbs file

Open OTL.exe and click on the CLEANUP button
Reboot the computer at the prompt
That should do it, take care rinoscar  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
