Automatic Digit Typing

Hi there, I have this issue where the number 6 gets automatically pressed everytime one is able to type and it does not stop. I have to constantly highlight and delete the numbers that keep appearing whenever the text format is on. Could this be a particular virus? I have doubts whether its a keyboard malfunction. Please advise.
While I'm on the topic of virus, I would like to protect my laptop and all content stored on external drives. Could you recommend a suitable anti-virus? Thanks.

It could be just a hardware error, but let's just double check
Download [color="#FF0000"]OTL.exe[/color][/url] by OldTimer to your Desktop.
  • Close all windows and double click on OTL.exe to run it
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted.
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.

Luckily, I don't see any sign of Virus, but we should get you an Anti-Virus installed in a bit
But for now, can you do the following please
Download TFC by Old Timer and save it to your desktop.
http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/TFC.exe
Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Right-click on TFC.exe and choose to "Run as Administrator" to run it

Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately.

Let's do a check for malware, do be safe
download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here
Save the installer to desktop

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to [color="#0000FF"]Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware[/color] and [color="#0000FF"]Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware[/color], then click Finish.    
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.    
  • Once the program has loaded, you will be prompted to Decline or use Trial version>>>Select DECLINE
  • Select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.    
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.    
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.    
  • If anything is found, make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
        * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)    
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.    
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediately.

I use all those programs but don't really need any of the toolbars.
I use a laptop LG R580...no desktop.
The problem still persists...number 6 still keeps appearing and have to back space a lot. Any suggestions?
