There are forums there, too.
to me, it sounds like the disc u have is an image of the hard disk when the computer was new. these are useless if u want to install somewhere else because they aren't actually a copy of the windows setup disc.
I know a dude(wink wink) that successfully used a Dell XP OEM disc to install Windows XP to an HP computer, so I know it can be done, but probably most of the time it won't work in general.

93 processes running????? Holy crap!
I think I'd just reinstall Windows and lock the computer in a room away from your sis-in-law...

Seriously though, I hope someone can help you. I'm not attempting this one...

Software / Install Windows 95 OEM - need bootdisk
« on: January 01, 2006, 02:41:10 PM »
Dude, did you try CD-ROM God? I had the same problem as you and I used it to install Windows 95 OSR2 to an old Compaq computer.

CD-ROM God

"This boot disk tool features over 20 CD-ROM drivers. It includes basic ATAPI drivers as well as model-specific drivers, which extend your CD-ROM drive's functionality. This version uses a DOS menu and device.com to load, so you will have to boot-up only once. Also included is a CorelCDX with a memory cache."

Download the zip file. Extract the zip and write the files to a floppy.  Use the floppy to boot the computer you want to install OSR2 to. When the computer boots, it will ask you some questions. Pick the type of cd drive you have and then insert your
OSR2 disc and install Windows 95. It worked for me when everything else failed.

I like your sig, by the way...  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

You can use Isobuster or Ultra ISO to extract your installation disc to a folder on your computer. then manually delete what you don't want. Be careful that you know what you are doing.
You can also use Ultra Iso to take the files and make a new bootable installation CD.

I recommend using Ultra ISO in conjunction with a program called nLite, which allows you to remove stuff you don't want from Windows itself(like IE, Outlook, etc). I slimmed a Windows reinstallation disc down to 280 MB. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

Yeah, people waste too much time searching for cracks.

There a many different versions of Corporate editions. Just download one that suits you.

Or roll your own with nLite.

I used CD Rom God to install 95B to a computer I had. Worked perfectly.

Software / nLite

I made a customized Windows XP Pro install Disc with nLite.

Removed IE, Outlook, unnecessary components and services, integrated SP2 and post SP2 hotfixes, increased TCP half open connections to 16 million, disabled windows file protection, and much more...

I got the installation disc down to 283 megabytes.

Now windows is almost twice as fast as before(with all that junk out of the way.) http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

Software / What security software do you use?
« on: October 27, 2005, 07:07:12 PM »
I'm currently using Firefox, Peer Guardian 2, Sygate Firewall Pro 5.5, Spybot free, Adaware free, and AVG antivirus free on Windows XP.

No problems whatsoever.

Software / Will you upgrade to Vista?

I won't.
From what I've read, I don't see a reason to want it or need it.
Your mileage may vary though...
