im pretty sure im being keylogged because my email and game accounts keep changing their passwords, anyway to get rid of this without reformatting? help pleaseee

no i didnt use the system restore method, i knew that sounded stupid and i didnt want to cause bigger problems. thanks a lot again guestolo your the man.

i did this,
This instance of the problem is easy to fix. Go to a command prompt (Start|Programs|Accessories|Command Prompt) and type
Set
followed by the Enter key
The resulting output usually contains a line like:
TEMP=C:\DOCUME~1\UserName\LOCALS~1\Temp
The stuff after the = sign is the path to the temporary files folder. You need to change directory to the parent folder of this temporary files folder (usually C:\DOCUME~1\UserName\LOCALS~1) by executing command
CD C:\DOCUME~1\UserName\LOCALS~1
followed by the Enter key
Then check that the Temp sub-folder exists using the dir command. If it doesn't already exist, create it using
MD Temp
followed by the Enter key
In my case the folder was there but the attributes included the read-only flag, so I reset the attributes by executing command
attrib -r +a -s -h Temp
followed by the Enter key
Start Movie Maker and it works.

nope, i restarted it and im still getting the same error.
i noticed the files you gave me were for version 1 of movie maker, could that be a problem ?

i get the same error as always, its a red circle with a white X in the middle of it, next to the circle with the X it says, "unspecified error", at the top it says windows movie maker, there is a button to press ok and thats it. if i dont click on it, the message goes away but it still doesnt work.

yea avast pissed me off a lot so i removed it, i ran the real uninstall thing though and now its fully gone. i did the update thing for java too, and also removed viewpoint and everything with it. any way i can get the SP2 ? or are you not going to help me with that ? well im still tryin to get this mm2 working again, maybe ill figure it out most likely not haha.

well i tried installing the service pack 2 update and it did 2 things and it still doesnt have movie maker 2. it still doesnt even have the .exe file :/ any other ideas ?

ok i didnt have movie maker at all so i downloaded the older version and then updated to 2.0, everything worked fine until i did a system restore. now every time i try to open movie maker, it says 'unspecified error' with an X. so i tried deleting the whole thing and reinstalling it, it wont let me delete the folder, i tried deleting everything inside and reinstalling and it didnt work, i ran it on safe mode, deleted the whole folder, went back to normal boot and the folder was there again but it was empty, i reinstalled it again and now it doesnt even have the moviemaker.exe file in it. i dont know what else to try, its so frustrating ! please help me

oh, i never used quicktime except for some certain files and this alternative quicktime does everything i need. i would recommend it.

well i uninstalled it and installed the alternative and it works perfectly, thanks a lot for your help, any ideas why the quicktime audio just decided to stop working ? thanks again

whenever i try to watch quicktime files or listen to quicktime files the audio on them never works, ive downloaded the newest free version of it and it still doesnt work. i removed it completely and reinstalled and it still doesnt work, windows media player works fine with audio or any other media player i have on my computer, its only quicktime. also, i noticed if i download the file and play it through a different media player it works fine. i know its not just the streaming problem because when i download it and try to play it, it still doesnt have audio, i checked the preferences in audio and they seem to be where they should be. please help me http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

everytime i try to play a quicktime file it never plays any sound, any other type of program plays with sound, ive tried removing quicktime and reinstalling it but it still doesnt work, i have the latest version of it but its the not the pro edition, its the free download. whether its a video file or if its a audio file it never plays with the sound, any ideas ? i know its not my sound because everything else works fine with sound on my computer.
