Software / Rundll problem
« on: November 01, 2005, 01:51:49 AM »
I am not exactly sure what my main problem is, but I believe my rundll run time has failed. My computer loads up really freaken slow, most programs dont even load up during start up, and I can't access the system folder(among others), in my control panel, not to mention that the windows firewall icon(among others, also) are no longer in the control panel, also. In addition, I can't access most of my programs because the dll files are either missing, corrupt, can't be read, or that they are not a valid windows image(or something like that. And when it says image, is it referring to an .iso file?). I can access Internet Explorer, but it will suddenly close whenever I try to go to any website. My homepage will load up, but nothing will show. I hate using IE, but I had to because Mozilla wouldn't open up at all. I tried using my Registry Mechanic, but it barely helped. Anyone know what's up?

Software / Basic Windows Problem

Holy crap...thanks Questolo. That worked perfectly. And I don't feel like a dumbass anymore cause the problem wasn't as simple as I thought it would be. Thanks again!

Software / Basic Windows Problem

I didn't install anything. The page that opens up isn't internet related. It's the search page that is inside windows that searches for programs, files, pictures, etc. inside of your hard drive. When I right-click on a folder, the top three options that pop-up are Search(which is in bold), open, and explore. Normally the order would go Open(in bold), explore, then search. And when I double-click on the folder, a new folder pops up with the search pane on the side, just as if I had gone to the start menu and clicked on "Search: For files or folders" myself. Nothing happens on the old page, just that new page pops up

I hope that gives a better explanation of my problem. Sorry I wasn't so exact beforehand.

Software / IE pop-up error "1"
« on: October 02, 2005, 03:49:22 PM »
I think the best thing you can do to save yourself the trouble of IE is download Mozilla Firefox. You've probably been suggested to download it before. It's a hell of a lot better than IE. It's faster, I've never had any problems with it, and it's not deeply wired into your Windows OS, so if it ever has problems, Windows won't.

Software / Win XP Activation crack
« on: October 02, 2005, 06:04:04 AM »
[quote name=\'hacthafucinplanet\' date=\'Sep 26 2005, 05:00 PM\']The following statements and steps are absolutly fictional and should not be tried on any computer system.

XPACTIVATION XPACTIVATION XPACTIVATION XPACTIVATION

F all the cracks boys and girls, cracks can and will f up your system, do these easy steps, so easy you will throw your computer at the wall to make sure this isn't a dream. Its funny how these big wigs announce things, there like Microsoft is announcing that it is going to make people call in to activate xp, a very flawed [censored]in O.S. You pieces of [censored] that call people thieves, are pathetic, I say microsoft is a thief, taking away our right to just use something we bought without having to listen to some snot nosed call centre agent, who wouldn't know a computer from the little chubby he gets in his pants when his mom bakes him cookies. So I say [censored] them all, with these steps theres no need to download anything just follow along. I spent weeks trying to find something that wasn't going to give me the blue screen of death or that i didn't have to reboot and [censored] around in safemode. And yes you can thank me later folks.

I CALL THIS HOW TO MAKE A TRILLIONAIRE
KISS YOUR ASS IN 7 STEPS.

number one:

open note pad copy and paste the following text:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents]
"OOBETimer"=hex:ca,82,b8,55,d4,04,b5,cf,cc,5b,24,00

save the text as de.reg onto your desktop so you can find it.
NUMBER 2
double click on the de.reg on your desktop and say yes and add it to the registry.

NUMBER 3

Click "Start" and go to "Run..."
Type in %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a and click "OK"

This will bring up the "Activate Windows" window.
NUMBER 4

Check the option for "Yes, I want to telephone a customer service
representative to activate Windows" and click "Next"

Then click "Change Product Key" (don't enter any information on that screen)

Type in a product key, I mean your product key.

and click "Update"
NUMBER 5

The activate Windows by phone window will reappear at this point, just JUST CLOSE THE WHOLE THING DOWN BY CLICKING "X" in the upper right hand corner
NUMBER 6 (almost there your going to [censored] when you see how quick this is.)

Activate Windows by copying the following text into a new notepad and save it as up.reg on you desktop, once again so its easy to find.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents]
"OOBETimer"=hex:ca,82,b8,55,d4,04,b5,cf,cc,5b,24,97

NUMBER 7
double click on up.reg on your desktop and say yes and add it to the registry.

Ready to see if it worked
Click "Start"and go to "Run..."
Type in %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a and click "OK"

If you see "Windows is already activated" then you can say kiss my ass to all those whiney bitches who, wanna call you a theif. If i am a theif because i don't want to call microsuck and have phonesex with the fags to setup my xp, then i don't think i should have to. I purchased my copy by the way, its bad enough bill gates has to wipe his ass with hundreds while us poor saps have to grovel to him just to
use our own frigin computers.

By the way I am not a thief for the record, I like to be considerd a treasure hunter. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

Sorry I had to quote all of that. But i'm just curious to how people find out how to manipulate windows like this. Or any program for that matter. Knowing what to type, and what numbers to put where, so on and so forth. And I don't want to hear "Someone else showed me." That doesn't answer the question. Is there some master comp user that knows all and teaches the willing? Cause I want to take his class.

Software / Basic Windows Problem
« on: October 02, 2005, 05:39:30 AM »
Well, I guess this would be a decent post to you guys considering its not about hacking windows or anything like that. And I'm not retarded when it comes to computers either. Here's the problem: Anytime I double-click on any of my folders in my hard drive, instead going into the folder like it has for an eternity, it opens up a search folder. I've went into Folder Options, System Settings, Tools, etc. And I can't find how to turn off that setting. This is practically the first problem i've ever had. Messing with the BIOS is quicker than me looking for the answer. Anyone know what to do?
