Connecting two buildings 200' apart with Netgear
« on: December 17, 2003, 10:46:42 PM »
In one building I have a WGR614 connected to 2 laptops using wireless WG511 PC Cards and 1 laptop via a hardwired ethernet connection.

In the second building I have 1 laptop  with a wireless WG511 PC Card. The distance from the Router is too great to get a reliable wireless signal. This laptop needs to be portable.

Between the buildings I have an underground Cat5E ethernet cable doing nothing.

Now the questions!!!

1) If I attach one end to that ethernet cable to the WGR614 router and the other end to a Netgear WG602 access point will this improve the wireless signal to the second building?

2) If I forget about the ethernet cable and install a Netgear WGE101 bridge in the second building will the brigde provide an acceptable wireless signal 200 feet from the router?
