Burning dvd 1.4gb to full size dvd 4.7 gb
« on: December 19, 2003, 09:08:42 AM »
Hello....HELP!! We just bought the new dcr-dvd 300 sony camcorder that uses the small dvd 1.4gb.  How do I burn the small one onto a full sized 4.7?  If I burn it....it won't let me play it back on our computer...but it will my dvd player.  BUT it also won't let me re-add more after initially burning it.  We want to be able to put about 3 of our small 1.4 gb dvd's on one full sized dvd.  Is there a way to add to a dvd?  We do have a dvd burner, a cd burner....but either I'm an idiot or I just haven't received the correct help!!

Hi,Tina!

What you need is some software! I would recomend Roxio DVD Builder (comes with Roxio Easy CD & DVD Writing Software) this lets you make up a DVD from seperate bits of film and make your own DVD menus! It's realy easy to use (as simple as drag & drop) and gets great results! If you can copy the info from a few of these small DVD's on to the hardrive of your PC then Roxio's software should recognise it and be able to lump it all together before letting you burn it to a standard 4.7 Gig DVD!

I'm not quite sure about small 1.4 gig DVD's but you should read the documentation regarding the possibility of linking your camcorder to your computer directly via a firewire or USB cable!

Hope this helps
