My son's computer has been somehow defiled by some scumbag at smartsearch.ws. No matter what I do it keeps resetting IE 6.0's home page and search page.
I have installed NOD32 virus protection with the latest defs (1/7/04). It finds nothing.
I have installed AdAware 6.0 with latest defs. Doesn't help.
I have also searched and replaced every occurance of "smartsearch" in the registry.
I have tried looking at the open processes (I'm running W2K with SP4) and closed everything that is suspicious....
BUT...
Everytime I reset the home page, close IE, then open it back up its back on that BLASTED SITE!
I just got done reformatting the hard drive, so everything was clean until this!!!
Please help.
