Internet Explorer Problem
« on: January 18, 2004, 07:44:15 AM »
When I run Internet Explorer and try to go to www.msn,com I am getting another site. This does not happen in Compuserve. Does anyone know how to stop this redirection or whatever it is.

Thanks

http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' /> Thats a toughy.
Check your settings in IE under TOOLS.  See what your home page is, ie. MSN.com.  If you want to change your home page, simply enter a new URL and apply the change.  Shut down IE and bring it back up again.  If a re-direction occurs, check the IE/windows Registry.  *Very TrickY*

I solved my problem today. The redirection was taking place in the HOSTS file in the windows directory. It is a text file that can be edited to remove the links causing the problem.
