Convert OEM CD to Retail CD

Regarding the article: Unlocking WinXP's setupp.ini

The following sentence is rather cofusing. I would appreciate it if someone would explain this:

"Now, for the actual values. Remember the first and last values are interchangable, but usually you'd keep them as a pair:"

Retail = 51882 335
Volume License = 51883 270
OEM = 82503 OEM

Does it mean you can put 335 in front of 51882, and whatever number is listed on my CD must be replaced by 51882? Is it true that replacing OEM with 270 will keep from having to enter a Windows key (even during a fresh install?).

Boy, this all seems a little too easy to be true.

You will still have to enter a cd key after a fresh install.

[Making XP bootable again after e]

First of all, thank you for this great site to learn from.  I have copied my Windows XP cd to "my documents" file.  I edited the setupp.ini file to use a retail key.  The problem is making the edited files bootable again as they were originally.  I tried to follow the guide for making the cd bootable again, however, in two days I'm ashamed to say I have not been able to

I know the problem. Here is a site that has good instructions for making an XP or 2000 CD bootable again. I think they made at least one mistake. I prefer to check
"Finalize CD" and select "Disk at once" (instead of "Track at once"). Also it may
be necessary to write at a very low speed for the CD to copy all files to the hard drive on some PCs (I have had that problem).
