Desktop shortcut

One day when i booted my PC, My internet Icon was gone from my desktop. I connected from the program on my menu and once connected tried to create a new shortcut, but when I click it, it prompts me to type in an executable file....I'm not sure what to do.....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right click desktop/new shortcut/browse c:drive for your internet dailing program amd select it as shortcut.
