Windows 2000 install on Dell GX110
« on: February 04, 2004, 11:16:16 AM »
I am trying to install W2k on a Dell Optiplex GX110 and it hangs on the last boot when the screen inches that little blue line across the window.  It just stops forever.

The computer has a built in (to the motherboard) 3COM 40-0579-006 Broadband 5904
plug.  Could it be Windows 2000 can't find a driver for this and this is why it hangs ?
Any suggestions ?

It is a 533 mhz CPU and I've taken out the unneccessary cards and have tried the hard drive on another computer and it loads W2K on the other machine. Thanks !

Thanks anyway I figured it out. It was an intermittent 128 mb Sdram.
I removed it and it worked.
