I have xp home edition, where my taskbar is its not there, I can just about see a blue line.
my remedies to try and retrieve the taskbar is as follows
tryed running most common virus removal tools such as mydoom,msblast,weilch and bugbear as well as others, nothing found.
I have tried setting the display settings still no taskbar
tried a hide taskbar and then unhide taskbar it just about shows the start menu tab but when I try to drag the bar upto show it goes again.
any idea what could cause this and to repair the problem I have a xp recovery cd just in case I need to format and setup default, but I dont want to do this if I can help it because of all my files and just in it does not rectify the problem.
