Trouble with SATA and XP
« on: February 19, 2004, 04:11:10 AM »
I have trouble installing XP on my new SATA drive.

I hit F6, install the drivers all right, and it finds my hard-drive, and I format it, and copies the files onto it, and everything seems just fine until the first restart. Instead of continuing the installation after restart, it goes back to the first part of the installation again, where you have to press F6. I've tried so many times now, and this happens every time. I tried setting SCSI harddrive to boot before the CD-Rom, but then I get an error-message saying that there is a problem with boot.ini and that it will boot from c:\windows, which of course it doesn't do. Instead it restarts, and restarts and restarts....

What is wrong and what can I do to fix this?
