Resolution in Windows

Where is the resolution stored in windows? Is it in a binary form somewhere, or is it stored in the registry? I did a search on the web, but didn't find what I was looking for, I also searched the registry, but still was unable to find what I was looking for. Any help would be appreicated, Thanks

mine is stored in the registry and i'll guess that they all are. i'd also guess that the location might vary a little from vendor to vendor.
any how, try having a look around hkey_current_config\system\currentcontrolset\services
