GeForce 4 mx 440 issue
« on: March 29, 2004, 01:59:25 PM »
hi all, well i´ve just found this comunity i hope to learn as much as i could and post my modic knowledge too.

well i have a problem with my gf4 mx 440 (i know its not a good one, but no money...), and i want to retake some "old" games (blood2, soul reaver, carmageddon2...), but no success, with some of them i simply get its executable with 99% of cpu´s resources, with other i cannot see even menu in the right way.

someone told me it could be due to this graphic card doesnt support hw vertex shaders, so i dled 3dAnalyzer to test a bit... no success.

i have the latest forceware drivers (the latest official ones), and im running with DX 9.0 <---- may this be the problem?!

Thx in advance, and sry if my english sux, its not as good as i could wish http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

ciao !

It is very true that the MX440 does not have shader support dispite what some dummies in the Overclocking Forum are saying. If you could only afford a low end and outdated card you'd be better off with a 9000PRO because it does have shader support.  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
