DPMS mode off Computer shuting down

http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' /> my pc shuts down at random and may or  may not turn back on. When shutting down the last thing on the display is "DPMS mode off"

DPMS mode is Display Power Manager Signalling mode.  Does your video card support DPMS/ is your monitor a dpms?  Look through some specs and you may find it.
