Ok i have read the stickys and other peoples posts on kinda similar problems and tried out their tips but still having trouble upgrading
I bought a new 200gb hd installed it and put win xp on and realised it only detected 137gb of it
Some people said that i need to add win xp sp1 so that the OS will allow over 137GB and done so, Id imagine even though ive done this i would have to reformat and reinstall windows xp for it to probably detect it.
But people have also said and ive checked the websites out that my bios needs upgrading too to allow over 137gb.
I have a Abit KT7a Raid motherboard and the serial code is WW
I downloaded
KT77N - which should update and allow it to recognise my 200gb
kt74a - let me have amd 1.4
I already had a flash version from a while ago when i tried the same thing but it wasnt required as much as now
I used this flash and choose the files from the kt77n ones and it said file wasnt for this system
Ive tried the .bat files on a floppy under safe mode ms prompt but they havent been able to update
I am now downloading Flash Menu 133 which is pain staking slow from the website - 410bytes a sec and dont think even working now and ive got broadband
does anyone else have any tips that i should do or something simple ive missed. Im really desparate now to get this sorted to recognise my new hd so that i can get everything else installed etc
just tried dos under safe mode and had a system floppy made and copied my bios files i wanted onto it
I raun runme.bat and got these msgs
for 8363-68-6b 6a6lma19c-w date 12/15/2000
flash type amic a29002/5v
file name to program kt7_7n.bin

anyone help?
