Slave h/d missing over 40GB

Hi, i need a little help.  What happend was i decided to move my slave hard drive from my old computer to my new computer,(both xp) the 1st problem i had was the new computer wouldnt boot up so i did a quick seach and it seemed the pin on the back of the hard drive was in the wrong place, (it was 4 from the right i moved it to 3 from the right) ( http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.ph...1&hl=hard+drive ) after that it booted up straight away. The next prob i had was it wanted me to format the drive before i could use it so i used easyrecovery to move all my stuff from that drive to my primary drive, after that i did the ntfs format the problem i have run into now is that it only shows 31.49GB when the drive is almost 80GB in total. any1 have any idea's...

The jumper you moved was the one that limited the drive to 32 gig.

............ Any chance of a little more insight? ie: were a pin (jumper) should be situated on a 80GB maxtor slave harddrive. Or should i just take some random guesses until the computer boots up and shows the full drive, not knowing much on the subject i kinda figured id ask for a little advice before putting my computer at risk by playing about with stuff that i have no knowledge of.

There you can find out all sorts of interesting information about your drive, including what jumpers do what.

Is the slaved drive partitioned? If yes, clear all partitions then create a new active one. Then reformat the drive.

There should be a label / sticker on you hard drive with the layout of the jumper's positions. they're usually easy to follow....
