cannot find .exe files

Hey Guys,
                 I have recently installed XP and norton antivirus 2005. norton removed a trojan from my computer but since then the only prog that works is internet explorer. the exact error message i get is

"Windows cannot find 'C:\<path\progname.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click Search."

Needless to say these instuctions are of no use. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i'm having the same problem. After i removed a virus and rebooted. None of my exe files file work.
