Network problem
« on: November 06, 2004, 12:02:23 PM »
Since my previous post I have additional information.

I have 2 XP PC's on a home network via a Linksys router with DSL service. Both PC's can access DSL and see each others icon with a Network prompt. PC A is running with XP Home OS+SP 2. PC B is running XP PRO without SP2. When trying to access PC A's shared files it responds with ;

"You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission. Access is denied".

Yet when I type in the drive and file name on the RUN line I am able to access
shared files. Why can I access shared files this way and not by selecting the
network PC's Icon in Network places? A help is much appreciated. Thanks.
