Ok, what the hell are 'downgrade rights' with M$ software?
I've got a legit oem copy of XP pro and I want to downgrade to w2000.
Now i don't want advice on how great xp is and how much better than 2000 it is because I believe its not.
Under the terms of my eula, i can downgrade to 98, nt4, or 2000 - yeah right, just try it.
I've just spent over an hour on the phone to m$ and they say that I need to 'buy a copy of 2000 if I want to downgrade' and that 'the fact that it says in my eula I can do it is only like upgrading'
Its not like upgrading at all! If you upgrade, get something better, then you should pay. I want to downgrade!
I don't need a CD, I've got over 200 of the damn things, what I do need is a legit licence because its for company use and I need to stay legal.
So according to M$, I've paid for xp pro with my machine and now I can go out and spend even more money on a different os.

OEM mfg says its nothing to do with them, m$ just want cash feeding to them.

Am I being taken for a ride here? Does anyone actually know how to get a valid licence from either m$ or the pc mfg?

God I hate m$ and windows
