Non-Existent Hardware Found
« on: December 02, 2004, 09:32:19 PM »
After a reinstallation of WinXP from the Dell restoration CD, my new Dimension 4700 finds an infrared hardware item every bootup. There are no infared ports installed from Dell on this system.

I cannot find any driver to satisfy this wizard, even on the "Dell Dimension ResourceCD". Other than the speakers, monitor, keyboard, and mouse, I have only an HP 882C printer through a powered USB hub and an APC BackUPS VS 500 VA power supply. This desktop pc also connects via Ethernet to my D-Link DI-614+ router.

The Dell forum has provided no answer.........

Can someone please help?

Thank you.

Do you have any wireless hardware installed on your computer
this is including mouse+keyboard

Have you checked Device Manager to disable item

There are no such devices showing on the Device Manager. The only wireless device is the capability of the router but this desktop is wired.

Thanks.
