This will help you to clean you temporary files, cookies, prefetch folder
Don't run it yet

Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad) hit Enter
Copy the contents of the Quote box to notepad

Important>>Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Name the file as fix.reg
Save this file on the desktop, well need this later, don't run it yet

    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

You may want to print the rest of this out or save it to a notepad file on your desktop for easy access, I will need you to Restart your computer into Safe mode and stay disconnected from the Net

Next: you have TEA Timer enabled which is a good tool of Spybot's but can deter any fixes that we try, I need you do disable Tea Timer for now

First open up Spybot and Search for updates and download them all, if any

Then, in Spybot>>MODE>>ADVANCED MODE>>TOOLS>>SYSTEM STARTUP
Uncheck
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\TeaTimer.exe

Restart your computer into SAFE MODE

Access your Add/Remove Programs and Remove if found
Winad Client

Find and delete these files or folders if they exist
C:\WINDOWS\kxqxsrv.exe <--file
wmmon32.exe <--file, do a search for it
C:\WINDOWS\System32\spoolsrv32.exe <--file, with exact name, don't confuse it with anything else that may look similiar

C:\Program Files\Winad Client <--folder

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

Spyware Warning on Desktop and a Dialer infection
« Reply #3 on: December 16, 2004, 12:40:09 AM »
You still have Tea Timer enabled
We have to disable it until we're done with these fixes

Try this

Open Spybot >>>Mode >>Advanced Mode>>Tools>>
Resident>>> unchecked Spybot TEA TIMER
Agree to the change or Follow the prompts to disable

RESTART your computer to ensure it's disabled

Back in Windows

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Winad Client] C:\Program Files\Winad Client\Winad.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win32 Configuration] videosd32.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System Startup] voltio.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Services] svssshost.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Srv32 spool service] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spoolsrv32.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [Srv32 spool service] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spoolsrv32.exe

O16 - DPF: Yahoo! Poker -
O16 - DPF: {41127F64-FDA1-2157-91F4-187D49701F6A} -
O16 - DPF: {58608B09-EB5C-0EBE-F5EE-6E0D4B59C2A0} -
O16 - DPF: {6037DC0C-1468-1664-65A8-3D386E2F6F65} -

O16 - DPF: {B1B7606A-D7B9-42A8-AFA2-476308413211} -

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
YES and exit Hijackthis

RESTART your computer afterwards

I see you have many AV utilities running on startup that can cause poor system performance, decide which one you need on startup
You appear to mainly be using Panda's---decide which one you need running on startup, we can disable the others on startup and you can run manually

Could you also Download the Trial version of TrojanHunter from this link
http://www.trojanhunter.com/trojanhunter/
This is good for 30 days

After installation you will have to manually update the Latest Ruleset
Go to this link
http://www.trojanhunter.com/trojanhunter/updating/
Download the Latest Ruleset to desktop

Unzip it to your Trojan Hunter folder
Allow to overwrite if prompted
The default location should be C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter

Restart into safe mode and
Run a full system scan
Let it clean what it finds and then restart your computer back into Normal mode

Post back with a fresh hijackthis log afterwards
but first open up Hijackthis>>Config>>Misc tools>>Check for updates online and update your version of Hijackthis

And post back your WHOLE log, including Hijackthis version and operating system

Did you get my email reply about Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05?
It has a free version and very trustworthy
If you didn't get it I can supply a link and instructions

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

« Reply #6 on: December 16, 2004, 10:36:11 PM »
Download this removal tool from Symantec and save it to your desktop

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...er/FxGaobot.exe

Disable System Resore--This link will show you how
http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/Disa...eSysRestore.htm
Don't reenable it until after these fixes

Print the rest of this out, I need you to
RESTART your computer into SAFE MODE
and keep totally disconnected from the Internet and Network

Double click to run the Removal tool
Let it scan and fix what it finds

Stay in safe mode and look for this file and delete it if found
C:\WINDOWS\System32\spoolsrv32.exe <--file, exact name, don't delete anything else that looks similiar

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AVG7_EMC] C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgemc.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AVG7_CC] C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgcc.exe /STARTUP

O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Srv32 spool service] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spoolsrv32.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [Srv32 spool service] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spoolsrv32.exe

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
YES and exit Hijackthis

RESTART back into Normal mode
Run the removal tool one more time to ensure your clean

Re-enable System Restore

Hijackthis has been updated, can you update your version
Open Hijackthis>>Config>>Misc Tools>>Check for updates online

Post back a fresh Hijackthis log afterwards

I see you updated your version of Hijackthis, but I need you to save it to a permanent folder

Create a permanent folder hijackthis
EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT
OR create a folder as C:\HJT---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too, also, backups will be stored there.
redownload from
HERE or HERE

After you have done that
Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O15 - Trusted IP range: 69.50.161.82
O15 - Trusted IP range: 69.50.161.82 (HKLM)

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
YES and exit Hijackthis

RESTART your computer

I'm not sure where Panda is finding these viruses, could you give me an idea
Better yet

Could you also
Do an online Virus scan at Rav's
http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/
When you access that link with Internet Explorer
click on the "To Continue without subsribing click here" link
It will load the activex and definition files

Ensure that all the top entries are checked
Autoclean--Inside Archives---Unpack Executables---Smart Scan

Then click the Scan my PC button

Let it completely finish scanning

Copy and Paste the results back here

Ensure your running Hijackthis 1.99
Do the next steps first

I know you have Spybot but also download this free program to check for spyware
Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05
Ensure you have this version
If you don't have this verision, install this one
After installation-CHECK FOR UPDATES
Allow to download updates
Don't run this yet, but check for updates now.....

Set Windows To Show Hidden Files and Folders
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Print the rest of this out or save to a notepad file
Restart your computer into SAFE MODE

Find and delete these files
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\alchem.cab <--file

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\THI1FAD.tmp

Do another scan with Hijackthis 1.99 and fix these 2 entries if you see them

O15 - Trusted IP range: 69.50.161.82
O15 - Trusted IP range: 69.50.161.82 (HKLM)

Click FIX CHECKED and YES and exit hijackthis

Open up CleanUp! and click the Cleanup button
Let it scan for files but Don't restart yet

Open Ad-Aware
ensure you checked for updates beforehand
Perform a Full system scan
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button

RESTART your computer back to Normal mode

Post back a fresh Hijackthis log afterwards

Can you try something for me, I'm not sure if the scanner is right
I've never seen that file before, except on one other log that has no reply

Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc Tools>>Open Process Manager and Kill this process

C:\WINDOWS\wscmgr.exe

Next: Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\wscmgr.exe and rename wscmgr.exe to wscmgr.old

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WCSE Mgr] C:\WINDOWS\wscmgr.exe

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
YES and exit Hijackthis

RESTART your Computer

Post back a fresh hijackthis log

Did you find any of those other files I asked about?

Can we first make a System Restore point to fall back on
This is just so you have it backed up to this point

Go to START>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>System Restore
Create a Restore point
Name it and click the Create button

Next follow along this link from
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyc...e=TROJ_FAVADD.A
You may not have to Delete the registry subkey 0

If your not having problems with your desktop, but just in case
if your comfortable with editing the registry you should have no problems

Don't log off yet
Instead send both desktop.html to the recycle bin

Restart your computer and then post back here how it's running
